Anyone own the Kershaw ET? What's it like, a decent knife or just another gimicky opening system? I try to search for it but found nothing.

I had to try it, but I find I never carry it. The quality is as good as you would expect from Kershaw, but in my opinion, it is more gimmicky than functional. The only thing about it that I actually disliked is the ribbing on the sides of the grip. They are machined at sharp right angles and press uncomfortably against my finger when opening or closing it. On the positive side, the blade has an aggressive cutting angle, and is made from the new Sandvik 13C26 that Kershaw has started using on a lot of their knives.

I couldn't resist buying one to play with. It's fund but keep the band aids handy.;-) Overall it has a good blade and fits my hand but I find it a little bulky and to be honest not very practical for EDC. However, you might like it. See if you can borrow one for a few days before you invest or try to get a used one cheap.

Is just me or the E.T. mechanism could work great in a pakal-style folder?

Every time I see it in action I can't help but think about it.

Sorry for my english :o

I've got one. Easy to flip open, hard to flip closed... for me anyway. What Gadgetman7 said about the bandaids is SO true... It came wicked sharp, and it is SOOOOOOO easy to accidentally cut yourself with while you're trying to figure out how to reliably and easily close it with one hand, and your wife is getting upset with you because you keep cutting yourself and she's threatening to... oh wait, sorry, got distracted. :)
