Anyone know about how Kershaw classifies factory seconds? I bought a new Boa on E-bay a few months ago for around $80. Brand new, bagged and stickered, but no box, no p-work. The knife works great but I do notice a tiny nick on the back of the blade. I feel for the price I still got a good deal but was wondering if anyone could fill me in.

P.S. Seller had about 10 of these Boas going in a "Dutch" auction.

Hi,

These might be Factory seconds, or returns to the factory. You see knives like these jobbed out to larger dealers, Etc... when the manufacter has odd's and end's the factory wants to get rid of. SMKW usually some of these deals in there monthly sales catalog.

Hope this helps a bit!!!

They have a big sale every fall at the factory (I didn't go this year, but have in the past (remember, they're in Wilsonville, Oregon, across the street from Sherwood, Oregon where I live, "the street" being Interstate Highway Five.)). What they sell is excess on discontinued stuff, over-runs of OEM stuff, a lot of advertising specials that they do for other companies ( typically with the customer's name marked on the blade, that sort of stuff), and seconds. I've picked up some nice stuff there. But, as you say, most of it is unboxed. Your knife might have come from there.

Gosh, all he does is dance from here to there he has a flower and sometimes he even wags his ears. All and all a pretty decent bear. Would it be better if the flower was replaced with, hmm say some microtech folder?
