I have about 5 or so. To be honest I haven't been able to find why they were 2nds. The only exception would be an S60V Blur that has / had a wavy bevel grind on the clip side. Even that was hardly noticeable. I would buy from Kershawguy.

Never owned one, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. Unfortunately I missed the chance to get one of the blurs.

i've heard some people complain about lock up and blade play but they were few and far between. the risk u take is no warranty though

If you have any questions about Kershaw xxxx or "blem knives", ask Kershawguy.
He is a dealer here on BF and I have found that he is the go to guy for Kershaw Factory seconds. He is also one great guy to do business with.

One of mine had a liner lockup that goes all the way over. It is a small knife anyway though and I decided to glue a little something into the blade stop to stop it a little sooner so it isn't a problem. It was the last of the bunch and I honestly didn't personally feel that it was worth making a fuss over since it was so cheap anyway and isn't effecting its utility now. Kershawguy is awesome...which you should know if that is who you are looking to buy from, and maybe should know anyway.

That is only half true. Grind problems, user negligence, and liner lock problems (locking to the very right scale) are probably not covered, but most other things are.

Before I bought a "blemish" G-10 Leek online I called Kershaw directly to ask about blems. They said that they would replace basic parts (not the blade), sharpen the knife, or just send you parts if there is ever a problem. I was amazed! Give them a call to see for yourself.

I had to replace my torsion bar and you can just order parts right off of the site, you dont even need a receipt or anything.

Beyond that you have the person that you bought it from. Little did I know that the G-10 Leek I bought off of ebay was through kershawguy's very own family member. I made a post asking what I most likely needed to fix -everyone said it was the torsion bar -then Kershaw guy posted for me to let him know if there were any problems -I have the feeling that if there were problems he would have been a great help.

I have two..the s30v leek seems to have a weak torsion bar but that is all I can find at all for the price you cant go wrong.

I don't know its one thing if its a cosmetic thing..but something mechanical or if the blade is messed up..not sure if its worth the buy

All you have to do is get in touch with Kershawguy and he'll tell you what the blems are. They blems aren't anything that will make the knife fall apart in your hands. Sometimes there's a slight wave in the grind, sometimes it a slightly uneven grind, sometimes there's a slight mar in the coating or there are a few pinpoints where the coating is missing from the blade. All the blems are solid and the blem is usually due to something cosmetic.

I have one of the s60v Blur 2nds, solid knife, no functional issues at all. Only issue is strictly cosmetic, an uneven grind that will mostly clean up with a bit of profiling.

I'd definitely say buy a second with confidence! The ones I have are great knives, and the only defect I found was one has a slight difference in the bevels of the grinds. I can't find the problem on the Shallot I got.! Great knives at better prices!

I've got two blems a scallion and a s60v blur, both are exceptional values!! I still have no idea why they made the scallion a blem and the blur was a slightly uneven grind on the edge. Of course neither are functional flaws and if the XXXX were not printed on the blades most wouldn't even know they were seconds. In fact I believe that they are such good deals that I will be going the annual blem sale soon with a few hundred in my pocket to add some cool new stuff to my collection. Oh and I also recommend dealing with Dave (Kershawguy). He is not like many knife dealers in that he actually cares about the customer and its a blast to talk knives with him.

I own two blems, s60v Blur with a wavy grind on the clip side and a perfect Damascus Shallot. I don't know why it is considered a blem. Both perfectly functional and good looking. The blur with the wavy grind is scary sharp even.
