Well. not quite done yet but I won't be able to take another pic after the finish work is complete.
History - I bought a JYD2 in SC2, factory 2nd, and tried to fix the bad detent ball, resulting in . . . total fail and useless blade. Or was it? As a folder blade yes, but - repurposed as a kitchen knife, maybe not! A gift for my aunt who is a big cook, with dull knives.
SG2 composite blade (reprofiled & polished, with an etch to set off the SG2 core); crazy black-&-white ebony handle, with a black linen micarta mini-bolster and I added a mosaic pin (hadn't done one of those before & it looks really good I think).
It may not be the best kitchen utility knife - the handle is wider than I would like but there was no way around it. But it balances at the index finger, is comfortable in the hand, is a better slicer than my aunt's prized Cutco blades, and my uncle can't break it like he did the ceramic knife I gave her last Xmas. Plus, now I don't feel guilty for having trashed a great blade anymore!
