I figured I would get more feedback if I posted here in the kershaw area. I saw a Kershaw fire starter. Anyone have one/use one. Anyone want to get rid of one? Thanks!

I know they make one, and from the looks of it, seems like it would be fine. unfortunately I don't have any firsthand experience with it. I usually just use a blowtorch to get the campfire started:p

I may have to pick one up now just for curiosity's sake and give it a shot.

I'm ordering one just so I can check it out. My old one I have is broken and I've never replaced it.

I have a few of them. I like them, gets a good spark off. Usually it's the only kind I buy. I like the red colored ends ...it''s a lot less easier to loose in the outdoors.

My overall experience with them is very positive. Pick up a couple, put them in you gear for a firestarting back up.

good luck,

Jules

They work well. They're coated with a black protective coating as they come from the factory; scrap that off with a few strokes and you're good to go.

Is that a coating or is that the magnesium? Either way, it's gonna come off though :D
