I am interested in trying a Kershaw folder. What is Kershaw's Griptilian/Mini Grip or Endura/Delica?

I prefer a knife around 4-4.5 inches closed with a neutral handle - not too many choily-groovy lumps and bumps.

I would prefer a manual knife with thumb studs. Not really interesed in flippers or AOs.

Your help would be appreciated..
:)

In my opinion Boa is the best Kershaw folder ever! I have got three of them! But it is with AO and receintly discontinued.
If considering your preferences, not myne, I would recommend you to try Scrapyard Dog. I have got a mini version - very funny small knife. If you like flipping - it is your choice.

I'll 2nd Cali's call on the Blur, see if Kershawguy has any S60v or composite ones left. Or go lockback and get a BlackHorse I've logged a lot of miles with the Blackhorse & Blur.
Or wait for the Piston (Scratch that you side no flippers). I can take or leave flippers but my Zing spoiled me. I like them especially when Kershaw and RJ Martin team up on one.

And it uses Elmax steel which from my findings has been better than the CPM154, CPMD2 and VG10 I've compared it too.

The S60V Blur blems are long gone.....the ZDP-189 composites are still around if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I am keen on the Blur.
The thumb studs are very different to what I'm used to. How do you find they function?

Studs for me was uncomfortable at the beginning, but now I think they function very well. It's matter of get use to it :)

In my humble opinion they are the best designed thumb studs on the market and they work extremely well with the AO.

You asked for Kershaw equivalent to Spyderco's Delica and that would be the Blur or the Leek, but 2Brothers' suggestion is a very good one.

The Blur is definitely one of the first knives that comes to mind when I think of Kershaw, along with the ones named after onions.

For me, the blur thumb studs worked extremely well. Much easier to use than most companies' thumbstuds if you want to pop the blade open in a hurry.

I have a manual s60v Blur and I had to sand down a couple of sharp spots on the studs, took all of 30 seconds. Those studs, despite looking weird, are the best in the industry IMHO. Your thumb just goes there and always gets the right purchase. The Blur would be my recommendation to you as well.

You might want to take a look at the small version of the Cyclone. It's AO, but the AO can be turned off & on with a wheel on top of the handle.

Take into account that mini Cyclone is out of production and AFAIK there are no spare parts for that model, including torsion bars.
I had that model, there was issues with the AO switch - sometimes it was impossible to turn the speedsafe off. Eventually I removed it. Speedsafe is pure fun :D

the Leek is a bit on the small side for me but the 1660CB (composite) D2 goodness will eventually make it into rotation for me.
Thumbstuds on the Blur work well but can take some getting used to.
