Kershaw G-10 Tyrade rattle sound

Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a Kershaw G-10 Tyrade. Love the knife but there is this rattling sound when the knife is opened. It sounds like a tiny piece of metal is hitting somewhere.

There is no blade play. Everything appears to be solid.

There is no rattling sound when the knife is closed.

Did I receive a defective knife or is it common for this knife to rattle?

What you're hearing is the torsion bar rattling inside the handle. The reason it doesn't do it when closed is the bar is under tension. There is nothing wrong with the knife, and it won't hurt the knife to stay like it is now. To fix the rattle, take the knife apart and put a small dab of grease in the torsion bar cavity. That will stop the rattle.
