I just saw this in the last A.G. Russell catalog, and must admit it is one beautiful looking knife. I did a search, but didn't find much info on it. Does anyone out there own one of these, and if so, what are your impressions?

That is a remake of the 1993 special edition knife that came in a presentation box with a soft sheath, well suited for dress carry. The remake version 1993-2 is VG10 steel with black linen micarta handles the original had the same handle material I think , but the steel was probably AUS6 or AUS8. They are a very nice knife. Both were made in Japan. Hope this helps.

I have one and love it. The fit and finish are excellent. One point that I often look for in lock-backs is how the joint between the blade and the locking bar fits. On this one, the line virtually disappears. This shows a care in manufacture that is second to none.

The VG10 steel is everything that you would expect - very sharp out of the box. The blade is a full concave grind from edge to blade spine.

I highly recommend it. It is one of those absolutely flawless old school classics. I have two.
