Has anyone had a chance to handle either of these knives? I am so excited about adding them to my collection, but want to know more about them. I talked to Thomas W about them and he said that the manual flipper is really fast and smooth. Even better than the Kershaw Seagal, which I think opens very fast.

I am particularly interested in the Groove's handle ridges. Are they functional or just pretty?

While I haven't handled the Groove (I'm waiting until the second-run with the 12C27 steel), I can tell you with unreserved certainty that the grooves in the handle are there for function. RJ doesn't usually do stuff just for no reason. I'm quite excited with it coming out!

RJ Martin could answer that question for you. I believe when I asked him why he does the striations on the blade, I think he said because it helps the knife cut better. I think. I really can't remember.
