Can someone please explain to me why this wasn't a huge seller? It feels like a Batman fantasy knife that is actually quality made with good materials. Just bought 2 blem models for $30 each and it is easily my new favorite fondling knife.

RJ Martin killed it with this design. I really hope to see more collaborations with him.

I really liked the look and specs of that knife. The only thing that stopped me from buying one was that it didn't have thumbstuds.

Because it "feels like a Batman fantasy knife"?

Just my two cents.

I don't know about you but I like a little bit of flare now and then. I have enough pure utility knives, so I wanted to spice up my collection and it doesn't get much better than a grooved, recurved, tanto blade.

Great! Glad you like it and that it suits your individual style!

You did ask why it didn't sell well, though. Just saying that maybe the Bat-arang look isn't everybody's cup of tea. Or cup of knife.

Haha I hear you... I don't even want to think about sharpening it. I always have a Delica/Endura on me to take care of utility tasks. Next time I'm fighting the Joker or Bane, however, the Groove is coming with.

Work with me on this one, Rainbow.

The knife wasn't a huge seller. Yes?
You didn't buy one. (You bought a blem later on.)
Why didn't you buy one?

That's why nobody else bought one.

Simple.

I think it speaks for itself why it didn't sell. Most people don't "spice up" their collection like you did. They buy the same styles of knife all the time because they like it. Personally I wouldn't buy it because I dislike tanto knives. Just a preferance also because of the "batman fantasy" part as well. Like marcinek said, it just isn't my cup of knife lol.

I didn't buy it because I haven't been into knives for too long and once I really got into them I had no idea of its existence- no idea why. I never saw much discussion on it or anything. And last year I really disliked Kershaw's lineup because I thought so many of their knives were boring so I must have just skipped this one.

However you do bring up and good question, I have no idea what these went for originally, maybe 50$-70$? And in that case you're right, I may not have bought one. Regardless, this is going to be a pure fondling knife, which is not unheard of. Just look at the guys that get MASSIVE cold steel blades. They can't even fit into pockets. I have to believe it's just for fondling joy.

I'm normally no into the fantasyish look at all. I like classic and simple designs, but this one was too cool to pass up. So I guess I'm just confused why more people didn't also love the look.

Or (most) people that buy huge custom bowies, or hawks, or even $1200 swords.

1) You just said, at the original price, you "may not have bought one." Maybe, just maybe other people thought the same thing? You seem like a rational dude...maybe other people think like you. That's my whole point.

2) Why don't people love the same stuff as you? They just don't. Deal. That's life. :)

Personally I find it kinda ugly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the sort who only buys regular looking knives that I'm gonna carry everyday or go out and build improvised shelters in the bush with, I buy a few knives cause I think they look "cool"(ie, Cold Steel Spartan), I just...don't find this one appealing.

To each their own, and all that.

Great knife, I am glad I found one a little while ago and bought it.

Sharpening it isn't that hard. Most smaller sharpening stones (one-inch width) will work quite well on it.

Yeah I use small inch diamond stones on my Blur. You sharpen it just like it's a normal edge but a bit lighter right?

I have a Groove. It carries well. The steel is good (but not great). The grooves are difficult to clean. Sharpening on anything other than a rod is inconvenient.
