I have been playing with my kershaw grooves and this is just a badass knife I think if kershaw made these with out the grooves same exact knife usa made same price it would sell really well the only reason I didnt buy it in the first place was the grooves but when I handled it I was amazed at the fit and finished and how it functioned super fast with out assist and rock solid around $50 bucks usa made just loose the grooves.

The grooves on the knife are not the main issue with this knife to me. It is a great design for comfort and purpose. However, I would have definitely used the aluminum handles on it to save weight. It is a HEAVY knife (to me at least). The pocket clip is also a bit hard to attach and extract (maybe a little bending would have made mine better). I could do it with or without the grooves. RJ actually has good reasoning behind the grooves that I read about in another thread a while back. They do have a "purpose" so it is not just for looks. Anyways, enjoy the knife. It's a looker for sure.

The Groove is one of my favorite ergonomic knives, I wish they made another variation with a steel between Sandvik and M390. It's what opened by eyes to manual flippers.

My favorite thing about them was the dual grind on the tanto version. I appreciate the frame lock but with a scale over it too.

Iam so glad I bought some before they where discontinued the weight and the grooves dont bother me you just have to see it in person to appreciate it.

I'd be happy with any new USA made RJ Martin!!

I am hoping to get a 0600 but I'm also hoping for a production version of it a la 0770.

I love RJ Martin Designs

Just picked up two Grooves (one black and one red SO) in trade on BF; I'm addicted to them. Great action with no assist; this knife rocks, I am one happy camper! :)

Agreed the Grove has a very nice feel in the hand and the action is without flaw.

I don't know what the Groove is. Apparently you're not talking about the Zing with the blade grooves?

The Groove is basically the Zings big brother.

The Zing is a liner lock, but the Groove is more of a frame lock with g-10 scales.

All Grooves have the striations, both tanto and recurve.

The Zing only has the striations on the plain edge version, the tanto versions are smooth hollow ground.

The groove was among my first kershaws, and still remains one of my favorites. The build quality and action is insane..
