I finally got this little Higo in the mail today. I ordered this thing like months and months ago. Its been so long now I had forgotten about it but they finally shipped it out.
VG10 steel clad with 16 layers of SUS410 stainless like the typical Shun cutlery this little gem is a friction folder with a twist. Kershaw put a liner lock on it! It works flawlessly and is a very cool little knife. Comes with a nice box to store it in and a convenient well made leather pouch for carry. There are also some really useful grippy thumb grooves on the back of the flipper to open the blade which position themselves perfectly for your grip when slicing.
I thought I'd show it since no one has talked about it before that I have seen. It measures 4.75" closed counting the extension of the flip out bar. 4.25" not counting it and its just shy of 7.75" open with a 3.5" blade that is just 3/8" wide at the widest point.
These are probably not the biggest sellers which is why I wanted one but I am sure its why they had to special order it also. I think its a a bit of a novelty knife but the idea is over 150 years old dating back to friction folders used by Japanese gentleman for fruit testing.
