I see as of 2013 there is no Kershaw forum?
Ok i have a Kerahaw and don’t remember when or acutally ever buying it. Im mainly a Buck 110 & 112 guy and love the history.
Have no idea if Kershaw owners are cut from the same cloth?
My consern is where my Kershaw is made? Doesnt say anywhere on the knife. Can someone enlighten me? Thx

Some are made in China and some are made in the US. Model number may be on the blade. Picture would be helpful for better answers.

That is a Kershaw Kuro - offshore made, 8cr13mov steel - speedsafe (spring assisted opening).

A good, inexpensive knife that is still available today.

A good rule of thumb is that if your knife has "alphabet" steel like that, it's probably made in China.

That said, lots of good knives comming from China. The steel they are using is both serviceable as well as durable for a low price point.

Yes thats the knife and you guys hit it out of the park. Thanks for the info. I love these forums!

And as a follow up question. Manufacturers aren’t required to put the country of manufactur on the knife some where?

Yes, but my understanding is that it can be on the box, the packaging or even a sticker on the knife that is easily removed.

No matter where it's made it's put together well. I had the same knife given to me as a gift in 2013. It's seen some hard use and it's still in great shape going strong.

Also, for the reputation that steel has it does awfully well for rough cutting jobs.

I would be surprised if it doesn't have a country of origin etched on it someplace. On every Kershaw that I have looked for it, there has been one. When the knife is made in China the etch is usually pretty small, and someplace that is not real obvious. Look on the flipper tab. Look on the blade right up by the handle, check both sides. If you have had the knife a few years the etch may be getting faded. So a magnifier might help.
