I am thinking of buying a Kershaw Junkyard 2..new in the box for 28 bucks...feels like a good deal, and seems like a kick ass knife...

Great knife, awesome price!
Okay, where's this deal of the year? Come on, dish it!:D

I fell in love with the JYD II the moment I held it. And that combat santoku blade profile really appealed to me too.

What about the JYD II make u love it..chuck

I'll start with the handle. My hand wraps around it just right. It feels good and secure in my hand.
The blade shape, it's edge geometry and the rounded shape of the flipper/guard.

Also, all the reasons tradja listed above too.

Only thing I did not like was the over the top, one way only pocket clip. I partially solved that problem by grinding down the clip to a more workable shape for me.

Now, your turn. where are you getting such a great deal on this folder?

Ah, if you think the basic Sandvik-edged Kershaw 1725 JYDII is nice, find a 1725CB with the composite D2 edge - wow! Sadly, it's in a boringly plain black G10 handle, while a limited production 'blemish' run was in grey with the fuselage pattern impressed. Of course, the ultimate JYDII is the 1725SG2, a limited run Ti-framed -with the fuselage pattern - containing the really upgrade 'SG-2' blade edge. It was limited production and is now a bit hard to find. All neat knives!
