Specs:
Steel: Sandvik 13C26 stainless-steel
Handle: 410 stainless-steel with Airforce markings
Blade Length: a little less than 3 in.
Closed Length: 4 in.
Overall Length: 6 3/4 in.
Weight: 4.0 oz.
I received the JYD for Christmas and my initial impressions of this knife was that it had a good overall look and feel to it, didn't like the looks clip, and it very little blade play horizontally and none vertically. I used it for a week or so as my primary EDC and I was impressed about how well it preformed, cut great, nice solid lock up, and it was more sheeple friendly than my spyderco para-military.
The pros of the JYD are: Frame lock, I like the ball detent, it is easy to sharpen and holds an edge, thick blade (from edge to spine), small and compact, and its fun to use the flipper. Also it is pretty affordable at $35.
The cons: The clip (I understand it resembles the profile of the handle, but I don't like curvy shiny clips) and I didn't really like how bold the Air Force emblem was, but it was nothing that a little sandpaper couldn't fix.
After a month of use the para is still my primary edc, but I play with the JYD a whole lot more. Here are some comparison pics and solo pics of the JYD.
And a 3 second video showing how easy it is to open the JYD, no wrist movement needed. (Crappy detail
