Hey guys, my Kershaw Junkyard Dog II arrived today. The ergos are pretty much perfect, it fits my hand wonderfully. Nice thick liners, and 100% perfect lockup. No blade play at all. The flipper opening system is a fantastic design, no wrist flicking needed to open (even in vertical position). Not as fast as an A/O, but Capable of inertia opening as well. I do wish there was a thumbstud though. I am also not a fan of the bead blast finish on the blade (seems Kershaw does that with most of their Sandivk 13C26), I think a satin or polished finish would look better. I haven't done any cutting yet, but the knife seems extremely sharp. The pocket clip does seem a little gaudy, but I'll live with it.

Heres a quick video showing the opening and closing of the knife, and views of the lockup:

That seems like a nice knife! Try to do some cutting test and tape it for us so we can know how it cuts!

I think I may be the only one that doesn't like the way that knife looks at all.

Enjoy it though, looks aren't everything and it's only my opinion :)

I didn't like the way it looked until I saw it close up, and it's growing on me. I wish the handle were a tad bit longer, but the blade length is just right for me. I haven't had the chance to do any extended cutting with it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

In the video it doesn't like like there is much room at all for the liner lock to wear.

Ya, it looks pretty bad on a bottle, but what about that hose in the background? How long to make it into 40 pieces?

Looks like a lot of knife for the price. The clip isn't very subtle, but oh well.

Sure, but I'm not exactly sure how to do a proper cutting test...

I'm sort of a knife noob, so how can you tell?

Does it have a safety on it?
Oh, and that is one sexy knife.

No safety, because its not an assisted open knife. Its Kershaw's new manual flipper opening system.

This is the first time i have really looked closely at this knife, and I find one thing very odd, is there no thumb stud? Is the only way to open the knife the lever on the back? What happens when the motion isn't as smooth and you can no longer flip it open?

kindred_spirits don't let anybody tell you the lock is no good on your knife I just watched the video and in my opinion that lock is exactly where I would want it to be to lock up solid. And it still has plenty of room for wear. Just my two cents.

Very nice video by the way now get out there and cut something with it!

Take care. Heath

Yup, no thumb stud. It opens very well with the flipper, but I still would like a thumstud.

Heathen, thanks for the reassuring words.

Great looking knife. Only issue is that it is a garvity knife here in NY ( and many other locations).....

That depends mostly on the officer who pulls you over and finds it. I wouldn't be worried about carrying it at all. It's a fantastic production folder for the price, im awaiting my plain edge right now.
