Ok so I love the Kershaw Junkyard Dog and want to try and collect all the models, but Im unsure how many there are? So Im looking for info to help me put together all the JYD model numbers. Any help would be thankful

Hmmm, I don't remember all the models but here's a start. The original JYD was a bit smaller, made with metal handles and the battle ship rivets and logo (steel frame lock), They're was a version of this in grey G10 with just the rivets (liner lock), and then you have the JYD 2's and 2.2's the 2's having either 14c28n or 13c28n, I'm pretty sure they were the 13c28n though, the. You have the 2.2's which are composites with a 14c28n spine and CPM-D2 cutting edge, both the 2's and 2.2's were liner locks, the 2.2' has also had two different braze patterns, first a puzzle piece and now a saw-tooth like one. There was also the recent kershawguy exclusive DLC 2.2 with the puzzle piece pattern, 500 pieces. there's also the SG-2 JYD with TI handles w/ frame lock. I'll compile all the model numbers and info in a coherent manner momentarily. :o

As far as I know the model number is the same. I don't think they will, but I'd love to see it!

Edit: what models do you already have?

I only have 3 now.....so i have a few to pick up lol I have the 1725, 1725CB, and 1725CBDLC ( kershawguy)

The grey is something like K1725 only one I dont have yet. Just havent got around to it not that rare.

I have one of the original JYD's, and a JYD II TI/SG2. Mostly holding down places in my collection, rarely ever get used. Been thinking about getting them out and edcing them both lately. Age has made me as ugly as a Junk Yard Dog. Might as well carry a couple appropriately named knives. ;-)

They are great knives and ive been looking for a Kershaw model to collect. Ive thought about leek, scallion, and Im already doing skyline just need few super rare ones.

The composite bladed ones with the saw tooth pattern are regular D2 not CPM D2 like the first ones. The saw toothed one is also the only one I've heard called 2.2, as in 2nd gen composite.

Also there are two different colors of G-10 used for the 1725. The early ones were very light gray and the newer dated ones are a darker grey/green color. Also the newer models will have 14C28N
