Hi all!

Yes, I am poundering another Kershaw knife. The Junkyard dog series this time. Nice Heavy duty knife. However I can't really decide between models. JYD has frame lock, is big bonus but I'd get nativelly pretty cheaply the JYD II composite...

Any input would be appreaciate.

I really like features of JYD and it would make damn good carry knife on the woods. Doing medium to slightly harder cutting work.

I prefer the CPM-D2 JYDII. Its a great knife, and I've tried to kill mine and failed.

think you should up the ante and get the pro-series version. apples and super apples.

Hmm, I can get Junkyard Dog from eBay just about $45 inclusding shipping. The JYD II that costs $120 including shipping natively and having 14-30 days delivery time... I might check the Composite version of eBay too

but It should cost only $77 including shipping to Finland max or else I have to pay 30% toll feeds. And I rather keep costs down.

Recently aquired both a G10 Tyrade and a JYD II Composite, and both blades are excellent and great value for money. They are both very well built, obscenely sharp and good looking. Rock solid locks, thick liners that look indestructable. For deployment I actually prefer the JYD, but the Tyrade is slightly heavier built and better looking. More EDC rotations therefore.
Both are highly recommended.

Alright I have to decide weather I spend 80€'s or Composite natively or get regular one in 40€ from eBay. CB seems really good work horse.

Darn... I think I go for Composite Blade... I mean it hurts to pay twice as much from Composite Blade natively than you do regular... But I would not gain anything ordering from eBay the Composite thanks to toll feeds... But I would regret forever if I do not order composite blade... I know I would regret it and get it later so I aswell might buy it now...

p.s. Tyrade costs $245 in the eBay, I just checked composite Tyrade...

p.p.s. JYD II Does not have the speed safe and has the flipper instead, right? (not a big deal but I prefer non-assist-open knives, since they have less parts to break down)

Many knives have both speedsafe and a flipper, but you are correct the JYDII is completely manual, not assisted.

There are Tyrade's much cheaper too ($85 or so?), go for the G10 model, not the framelock one.
And trust me, the D2 edge makes a big difference in edge retention.

Thank you for answers. Tyrade might be good alternative, sometimes. So Kershaw's to buy in next 4 months:

Kershaw Skyline
Kershaw Junkyard Dog Composite

I wonder at what point I became Kershaw fan... *thinks* I always thought I would fall permanently for Spydies... Yet Kershaw's seem to be most abundant knives in my collection (in folder) and steadily growing...
