The top is a new Kershaw Junkyard Dog with MicroTec serrations from 888Knivesrus.com It costs and extra $3.00
The bottom one is a Junkyard Dog I tried to sharpen. As you can tell I did a bad job. The plain edge is sharp now. I really can not sharpen the serrations.
I decided to go with the MicroTec serrations because the Kershaw PS was not very sharp out of the box and I couldn't figure for the life of me how to sharpen the Kershaw serrations.
Anyway, I like this knife's size, function, feel and blade steel.
The actual cutting edge is 2 3/4"
The MicroTec serrations are 1 7/16" long
The Kershaw serrations are 1 1/16" long
I would have liked the MictoTec serrations to be the same length of the Kershaw but this is the smallest they do.
Is there a way to sharpen the MicroTec serrations with a sharpening stone? I'm thinking of those times when I'm hiking or camping.
Thanks
