Alright, I have a JYDII and love it, but it's too big and heavy to carry in lighter pants for work. I was wondering if any of you would weigh in on the smaller JYD. Does it have the same feel in-hand, etc.? Give me your thoughts!
 
It's obviously smaller than II, feels fine in the hand and does not flip out as easily because the blade is smaller. I'd recommend you go to the "Archives" section and visit Kershaw therre and you'll find a lot of helpful and knowledgeable info.
It's a good knife, by the way although it is heavier than it looks. I have both and like both, but carry the smaller more often, simply because it is smaller.
 
If you need a lighter, slightly more compact knife, a Mini-Griptilian might not be a bad choice....
 
I have both JYDs. They are both superb but the II is the better knife as far as filling the hand and feeling good. However, I would take the JYD I over many, many other knives. You should go handle one if possible. If you buy it without trying I don't think you will be disapointed.
 
The JYDII weighs in at 5.8 ounces, while it's little brother weighs in at 4.0 ounces, nearly a 2 ounce difference. Handle length is 4 7/8" on the II and 4.0" on the little brother, nearly an inch overall. For what it is worth I would email Steve Rice, aka STR, and ask about a fold over deep carry clip that will place the entire knife inside your pocket. That way it would not be nearly as obvious.:)

Btw, since I have received my deep carry clip for the JYDII, I think I have reccomended it to about everyone that has posted a thread about the JYDII!!

I did not know that!!! I like the idea of the whole thing in my pocket.
