I just got a Chive(and a Scallion) last week and fell head-over-heels for it(them).
Last night I got the November issue of Blade and lo and behold on page 13, there was a shiny black Boron Carbide coated Chive winning the Blade American-Made knife Of The Year Award.

And this is how I felt when I read:

Available: November.

This is gonna be one long wait for me.

Oh yeah, BTW, the Scallion kicks serious small folder booty too!

I'm fixing to get a Chive on of these days. While plain steel color ain't my favorite, right now anything that ain't black looks awful good to me. I must admit I'm getting tired of black. It especially frosted my a&& when I learned that the translucent material that the SOG Sculptura is made out of is Zytel. We could have been having all sorts of cool colors and translucent knives all this time they've been pretending that FRN comes in Henry Ford's color only. I feel cheated!

Well, I just got a Blackjack Mamba Folder on ebay, so I am going to wait till Novermber for a brand new Black Shiny Chive, I know it will seem like a long time coming, I CAN HARDLY WAIT!

I got to see one of them at the Blade Show. Ken had one in his hand. He never did let go of it. Too many people looking to snatch it I guess!!!

Not only is the coating cool and shiny. It's tough as anything. Ken took a coin and tried to scratch the coating. Just wiped of a smear of the coin off the knife. No scratches on the knife.
