Kershaw/Ken Onion Kitchen Knife Collabo - LOOKS AMAZING

my local knife store has one. If nobody buys it before next wednesday or so, i will be able to get there and play with it, at least.

donutsrule - yeah, no doubt about that.

shaldag - that's one heck of a local knife store you got there. definitely holler back over here when you do get a chance to check it out.

klattman - very true, imagine that. chopping & slicing away with a $200 kitchen knife that looks like it belongs in a friggin museum display case! the handle ergos alone give me a steelie. i have an idea.. get one for use, & one for the stash of non-useables

GarageBoy,
I would love to have a set of those WH damascus kitchen knives. But I think it's gonna run about 2.5K for the set, and I really don't need a divorce. Still, even the display rocks!!

Alan Aragon,
yes, my local knife store is great. It is very important to me to help keep them in business, so I can play with stuff before I buy it. I won't say that I give them allmy business, but definately a helathy percent. They will cut me some slack on their prices (mall prices are for people who buy a knife or two a year--and I am a little beyond that). However, even their best prices cant usually match the web. Still, if you want these guys around, you gotta pay. And considering that I live in New England, I'm lucky to have any knife stores at all.

That is a beauty! I dont know about most beautiful though, the Busse NICK is a pretty sweet looking vegtable de-animator as well. :D

Here is what Ken had to say about the knife on his forum.

"I tried to design a bio engineered kitchen knife that is shaped the way a chef holds there knife . I worked with the culinary institute of the pacific and several chefs as well as studied the tv food network and attempted to make knife that has the proper curviure of the blade to process most foods and handle shapes to take advantage of bio mecanics Bla Bla Bla .... Heck I tried to make a very ergonomic knife and studied alot of chefs and came up with this shape after a year and a half of prototypes and research . The result is a kitchen knife I really enjoy using and hopefully others will also .So far it seems the big name TV food network folks love it and women love it because it doesn't require alot of strength to use . My mother in law loves it and I guess 95% of those I've interrogated about it love it . Some however are stuck in there ways and refuse to switch from what there used to . I would really love more feedback . I think it's gonna be a winner . Kershaw just launched it a month or so ago . I guess all the high end outlets are carrying it or are waiting on shipment .
Let me know what you think of it if you get one . Good or bad I wanna know . I realise it's conciderably different and may take some getting used to but i'm convinced if you use it for a few weeks and relax and let the knife cut ,you'll dig it !
