Saw this great looking black knife bag in the 2006 Kershaw product catalog, page 44. Model Z997. Double zipper padded case with 26 padded knife pockets & carry strap. It has two, eight pocket, removable center sections. Looks like just what I need. Only problem is I can't find one for sale. Perhaps it is not yet on the market.

Anyone know where I can find this knife storage/travel bag?

Knives want to hit the road with me in comfort. Don't like leaving them to their own devices when I travel.

Thank you kindly.

Update:

I have it on good authority (Country Knives, Intercourse, PA) that the advertising copy for this bag is incorrect (as shown in the 2006 Kershaw product catalog) in the knife capacity. It actually holds 18 (not 26) 5 on each side and 8 in the middle section.

Still want at least one. Would like to see how the knives fit. Is there any chance what-so-ever that any part of one knife could rub against any part of another knife in the bag?

Talking to myself, again. Update.

Kershaw, their Tualatin factory is within walking distance of me (five miles, need Wheaties), returned my email this AM. They sell the Z997 for $29.95 right there! I will visit them this morning, love their Ken Onion display as you enter, and buy at least one.

Final update::thumbup:

Bot 2 black cordura knife bags at the Tualatin, Oregon Kershaw factory. $30 each. Well made, Mexico, hold 18 knives in each bag. The center section holds 4 on each side and the sides of the bag each hold 5. The center section velcros in place.

When filled with balisongs, folders and autos: no knives touch, the center pockets are quite tight and should probably only carry smaller knives and the bags zips nicely and doesn't buldge. Thumbs up for these. I will carry my most expensive pieces in these bags in my car without fear or loathing. For air travel I would have to have a hard case.

Sidebar: All of the ZT knife prototypes and the Ti ZDP Leek prototype were out of the office, at Blade, otherwise I think that I would have been able to handle them. The displays, in the front office (as far as I've ever gotten) are worth the visit. Very friendly & competent service by the charming & knowledgeable Jennifer L. Thank you kindly Jennifer. You are all right.

Here are a few pics. All 18 pockets are full of folders. I have six and will upload, dialup, asap. Thank you for viewing:

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b188/oregun/KershawZ997KnifeBag18piececapaci-4.jpg Bottom of bag flopped over on the non-logo side. Bottom has no rigid internal structure which lends itself to being packed within another container. Traveling by car I would generally keep it withing another duffle/case when I wasn't playing with its contents.

Thanks, looks like nice, safe travel storage. I`m guessing 8" inches tall with 6" pockets?

The bag demensions: 12 inches long, 7 inches high and 4 inches deep/thick.

The knife sleeves: 5 inches deep 2.25 inches wide for outside pockets and 2 inches wide for center pockets.

Note: sleeves are constructed of double-thick material. And, there is substantial padding sewn inside (and unseen) the front (Kershaw logo side) and back (no logo side). The botton has a soft form, without rigid internal stiffening.

Makes quite a man-purse-bludgeon-goodie bag-anchor-007 kit-deanimator resource-don't let your mother see this-organizer.
