Kershaw Knife Values

I've had these two knives since 2000. I bought both of them for hunting and carried them for the 2000 season. Since then I have become involved in Search and Rescue and have spent my hunting seasons hunting for lost hunters instead of dear and elk. I've been looking at a a couple of new folders for the wife and I and am thinking about selling these and buying the folders we want. I would really appreciate some input about what these are worth. Both knifes have the factory edge still. I also have the original sheaths for both knives

Here is the first knife. I don't remember the model #. It was carried very little and was never used on game. It apparently has beenused to cut something as there are some marks on the blade. Mainly it has sat in it's sheath for the last 7 yrs.

The second is a Black Horse 2. This knife was carried and used more but not by much.

Try going to Ebay and seeing what they sell for. Otherwise, its up to you what they are worth.

Isn't it amazing that anymore fleabay dictates the the value of knives. I know that often when deciding what to pay for or trade value of a knife I check New Graham's price then fleabay and make my decision from there. That being said, I have noticed lately that there are several sites selling discontinued Kershaws. Look around and see if you can find those knives at some of the knife "antique stores" out there.

ebay doesn't usually determine value. It provides a snapshot in time that should be compared to a variety of other sources to arrive at a value. Then every couple years, you should do it all over again. Sometimes I consider ebay more of a wholesale liquidation value.

Ebay provides a snapshot in time of the value in the secondary market, but, isn't a realtime value more realistic than some resource that revues values once a year. In ebay you can expect alot of views in a weeks time and even more people glossing over it when they search broadly and deciding that the item is not for them. So, if you are an ebayer and you watch a specific knife model and average the price of the knife over a period of weeks or months eliminating the super high and super low values you should arrive at a reasonable value for a product in the secondary market at the point in time that you are considering moving it. Further, I don't think it is wise to revalue a product every couple of years, but, every couple of months. Knife values, esp. on ebay, seem to be cyclic and change frequently.

But all that is just my $0.02 for what it is worth.

Around $20 each is about what you could expect to get for them. That is what I would sell them for at a knife show. They have really no collectible value and they have been used even though they are in good condition, they still don't hold much value for resale. Better to hang on to them and use them.

Thanks for the honest feed back. I'm getting the feeling that selling them is going to be an exercise in futility. The problem is I have absolutely no use for them. I have other knives that are better for EDC and the gut hook is a pretty specialized knife that I no longer have a use for. Maybe there is someone out there who has what I'm looking for and is interested in a trade? Mainly I am tired of these two knives taking up room in my garage and would like to see them go to someone who has a use for them.
