I have a kershaw speedsafe knife, where can I get a spare blade for this knife? I need to change the blade out. thanks Terp

You're going to have to send it to Kershaw for a reblade. Why do you need a new blade?

If the blade is damaged, contact their customer service department (by phone) and see what can be done. They have excellent customer service, so you'll probably get what you're looking for, but you will have to send them the knife.

Just make sure you insure it when you mail it in.

Psychopomp, do you have address for kershaw? this knife was a second. I tried but boogered the blade up. thanks

Kershaw doesn't send out replacement blades. You'll have to
send the knife to them. They'll send clips, screws, torsion bars....
things like that, but not blades.

correct me if im wrong, but if the knife is a second then it lacks a warrenty.

That is what they state in there warranty information, but it's not what they
practice.(;)) They cover the knife, not the owner, or in this case the 2nd owner.
Kershaw has the best CS in the business.

If your talking about a factory 2nd marked with "XXXX" on the blade,
then no, there is no warranty.

That's correct, there's no warranty on blades but they have a warranty on every other part.
So you're out of luck, I'm sorry. You could send it to Tom Krein, he reprofiles blades and I'm sure he could fix it.

Even without a warranty, they may fix it for a fee. This is why I think it's best to call before sending it in.

My only dealing with Kershaw's CS was a good one. I called one evening, after business hours because I needed a pocket clip. I left a voice mail with my name, address and what I parts I needed. Not expecting to hear back from them, the next morning the phone rang and it was Kershaw's CS department making sure they had all my information correct. Two or three days later, the parts arrived.

I'm curious. What did you do to blade that warrants replacing the whole thing?

what I did was tried to file down the back part of the blade (where liner locks), I filed too much off, now the blade is wobbly.
I emailed kershaw and told them I would pay for blade and labor. They said to ship UPS to warranty dept. All they can do is ship me the knife back. I would have to find this guy Tom Krein and ask what it would costs for him to fix it. thanks I will let you know what kershaw says.

It will be difficult to put metal back on the blade! What was the original problem that led to you filing down the lock face? Outside of a new blade, it will probably take a larger diameter stop pin to enable lockup and take out the play, but that could result in a canted downward blade.

that piece where toothpick is pointing at is what I tried filing down because it would stick when pressing piece of metal with my thumb to close blade.

here is another picture, to the left of toothpick I filed down, to the right of toothpick don't know the name of that piece of metal, it would catch and not release very well.

That one is definitely going to be tough to fix.

Next time you have a problem with a lockbar sticking, just open and close it for an hour while watching TV. This will solve it most of the time. If not, send it in to Kershaw.

Kershaw will probably fix it, no problem. Most of the bigger companies will replace blades no sweat, worst case they'll charge you for the blade.

I've had full blade replacements done by Benchmade and Lone Wolf on several knives.

The only company I know of that won't do it is Spyderco, and that's because they don't keep inventory.

Let us know what they end up doing!
