Hi guys, would you all be interested in Kershaw making a G10 version again concurrent with the aluminum? I for one would like to see this happen and hope this thread gains momentum so they can at least be aware that the G10 is preferred by some.

I wouldn't mind paying a premium for a separate G10 version either if it is cost and not design that the decision was made to aluminum. Great knife either way, but seeing pics of the G10, I can really imagine it in my rotation with knives two to seven times its price!

For those of you have the G10 version and would be bummed that you cant re-sell it in the future for a ridiculous amount if they make another run of it... Dont be selfish! I feel like this is one of those knives that everyone should have.

Unfortunately, this is not likely to happen. The handles on the Knockoutr are fairly thin, and because there are no liners, be decided that it would be better to use Aluminum due to it's greater structural rigidity. At this point there are no plans to re-indtroduce the Knockout in G-10.

The 1860 Piston would be a good option if you are looking for an all G-10 knife - the thicker 0.150" thick scales are plenty rigid for this application.

Ah so it was a qc reason for the change. Thanks for letting me know.

I do like the Piston also, I'm gonna have to weigh in as to which one I will get. I'm still leaning towards the KO.

The knife was safe, but we still felt it needed to be more rigid. In addition, the tool marks at the bottom of the the machined texture grooves were unsightly and impossible to get rid of.

I'm sure Jimmer and Thomas are just imagining the threads that would have been started had the G10 Knockout been the real one.

'why does my knockout feel so cheap?'

'my knockout flexes too much'

'There should be liners if it's going to been this flexible'

etc etc etc

Ah so you are saying that not everyone will be happy regardless which is the truth. That is why I stated that I wouldnt mind seeing a G10 version concurrent with the aluminum one. I didnt know what Jimmer explained to me in his reply about it being a quality issue, maybe it has already been explained but I missed it. I hate to be the guy crying over spilt milk, just a preference that is all. I understand now and have decided to pull the trigger on the KO aluminum. I cant pass it up!

This is an interesting thread to me. I keep searching for the elusive g-10 knockout. Found some previously sold listings as rare and discontinued. This makes me sad. I know the price point would be different but have you considering putting liners inside (not beside) the g-10? Like say perhaps the spyderco paramilitary 2? it seems to me mid-high-end steel like your 14c28n would look good with the fit and finish of liners submerged in the handle. I know the Paramilitary 2 is a fat, expensive, knife in comparison but I love the feel of the wrap around g10 scales. I have a g10/s30v leek and you were okay with making that knife much thicker (liners next to g10, not inside) than the steel handle versions.

Love kershaw, I have two leeks (the other is a rainbow) a 420HC blur, a stonewashed g10 tyrade, a skyline, had a cryo (gifted), a tremor, an LFK (always hiding from me), and a Knockout which I am currently trying to sell. So don't write me off as a die-hard spyderco guy. I love your stuff! I wish you had more time to do more variations of appealing designs in various materials. The skyline for me is one of the times you went no compromise on a non-ZT knife, and you do a good job changing it up. Its a perfect EDC, fit and finish and all. the knockout is a gray area knife that ends up being mostly novelty as-is. Your mileage may vary.
G-10, make it happen, get more of my money. ;)

Just a light-hearted rant about the knife company that got me started as a folder nut.
