Hi Guys,
I have a piston and I am loving it. I am getting more interested in the knockout. Have any real owners had any problems with slickness because of the handles? I live in an area where 7 months out of the year, it is wet and cold. I just had a thought that the aluminum framed kershaws with the speedsafe mechanizem, deploy much quicker and have a much higher "kick".

Any input would be help, and pics are always cool to look at too!

The slick handles make it somewhat difficult to get it out of your pocket. But it's perfect, otherwise

i have a knockout blem i picked up that i edc everyday and havent had any problemns at all with like that.....only thing ive had to do is lube up the bar twice because it rattles when dry. i love it as a edc knife and say get one

Good knife, easy to grip and hold. Like on most Kershaws, the flipper acts as a blade guard preventing you from opening your hand up when applying heavy pressure/force. It will be less grippy than G10, but not to the degree that it's a hindrance. It's a nice blend of design and strength.

I also noticed the bar rattles a little and the deployment on my piston isn't as fast as it used to be, should I lube up the bar?

I put about an inch piece of grip tape on the handle scale near the end of the knife (on the side without a pocket clip). Helps with taking the knife in and out of the pocket.

yeah its easy to do and it wont rattle anymore for sometime.....i loved the knockout and it never left my pocket til Kai Corp. was so kind to send me a 0560, now that wont leave my pocket for years lol

I haven't had any trouble getting the Knockout out of my pocket. If anything, the smooth handle makes it easier to slide out of a pocket. I think it's a brilliant build, haven't had any need to add anything.

I've been EDCing mine quite often lately and find it to be "slick" also, especially with dried out hands. Any other SpeedSafe knife I wouldn't have a problem with opening/closing one handed but I have to watch myself with the Knockout. That being said though, I DO love the knife. Overall design is excellent. A little different "texture" in the machining on the handles to cut down on the slickness and it would be darn near perfect!
