Hey guys im currently new to this forum, and have recently developed a love for knives... I believe this all began from childhood, as I've always been into hunting/fishing and in past have always enjoyed the multiple tasks and usefulness of having a really good knife on hand.

Anyhow, I'm having a bit of a dilemma, I'm debating between two good knives, one brand is particularly more favoured, than the other however, its said that this blade rivals the more better branded one, I'm talking about these two knives.

The Benchmade Conspiracy
vs
The Kershaw Knockout

My question is, which do you recommend being the best between the two knives? I'm after the one which is more durable, has the better steel, and the best over all review... if any of you gentlemen could help me, I'd be overly joyed to take some experienced knife owners help me in my decision.

If you know of any better knives within the same price range of these two beautiful knives which you also consider to be better than the both of them, and rather durable, please let me know and i'll track it down

Thank you for the help.

Do like the feel of aluminum handle or a G10 handle? I own a couple Knockouts and only handled the HK Conspiracy at my local knife shop. The Conspiracy has a titanium reverse scale that's nicer than the aluminum on the Knockout. I like the opening of the Knockout over the Conspiracy, other than that there both solid knives for the price range. As far as steel quality its pretty close and you can argue either way (imo).

Knockout has the better steel going for it. I also think the ergos are pretty excellent. The handles are lightweight aluminum, and Kershaw incorporates a steel sub-framelock for strength. It comes with Speedsafe assisted opening, and the big blade has a nice flat grind.

I have to admit that the Conspiracy never did anything for me, so I never picked one up. Just looks a little too boxy for me.

I own Knockout. Kershaw can build nice knives although I wish they would at least make Speed Safe and option and not include it on almost all their knives. I really dislike assisted opening. Other than that, I generally like Kershaw's whole lineup. I'm not familiar with the Conspiracy.

The aluminum handle on the Knockout is thin and can get slippery when wet. If you use it hunting/fishing, you will encounter lots of fluids--water, sweat, blood, etc. Something to think about.
