does anyone know if they are as easily used left handed? i cant find any where saying if they are ambidextrous or not. thanks for any info. any other comments on the quality or anything else about them would be appreciated as well. thanks, mike.

You shouldn't have any problems opening this knife left-handed. There are thumb studs on both sides of the blade that can be used to open knife but they are somewhat small. I think most use the flipper on top to open the knife.

You can see the flipper on the top in this pic.

Leeks are great knives and available in many different variations.

thanks, i didnt know they had a flipper. i really like the looks of them, and the price is awesome. thanks for the info.

i prefer to carry in my pocket rather than on a clip, so that is not an issue. thanks for the tip.

I had the rainbow Leek and found it too small and slippery for my hands.I didn't find it to be lefty friendly.

I'm a lefty and I carry a Leek occasionally. If pocket carry is your thing take the clip off, it does get in your way SLIGHTLY using the thumbstud. Closing it is a different story. I usually use the left thumb to open the frame lock and right hand to close the blade. Using one hand to close it can be tricky with the spring and pointy tip.
And of course the G-10 is grippier than the smooth steel.
BTW - they come in liner lock or frame lock configuration

I'm a lefty and have two Leeks. Tip-down right-handed is very similar to tip-up left-handed for carrying in the left front pocket. They open and close with no issues and I got so used to the lock that using a left-handed framelock totally throws me off.

I carry and use my rainbow and black boron with gold leeks in both my right and left pockets (use them in either hand). I have no issues closing them with either hand, although I must focus slightly more when closing it with my left hand, as I am right hand dominant.

Piano has helped me gain dexterity in both hands, so I don't really have too many issues with "righty/lefty" knives.

The quality is excellent, just use it as a knife, as the tip is ultra sharp because it is thin. Do not pry with it. I have used my rainbow leek quite hard outdoors, and the 13C26 edge has held up amazingly.

Hi,

As another left-handed Leek owner, I have no problems using mine. I carry mine tip down in my left front pocket. I really like the assisted opening.
