I just got a Kershaw Lahar last week and also a ZT 200. They are both extremely well made. No blade play on either and the lock-ups are solid. I also bought a Keshaw Groove and a Kershaw Junk Yard Dog II a few months ago. All these knives have flippers and I LOVE them. The easiest to open is the JYD II. I love the handle on the ZT 200 the best but It cost double the others. The JYD II has an amazing handle that grips you back and even though the steel is supposedly middle of the road, I love how sharp it gets and how it holds an edge. I prefer the blade shape of the Lahar to the JYD II and the Lahar came extremely sharp. Also it has a VG10 blade that is nicely finished. I only wish the Lahar had more agressive finger grooves in the handle like the other 3 knives mentioned. Overall I am extremely impressed with all 4 and am fast becoming a Kershaw fan. Opps too late, that happened after I bought my first Kershaw.

Did I mention I LOVE the flippers!:D:D:D

congrats my friend on the pickup. the Lahar is my other "baby". i wont use it except to scare friends as i shave my arm hair off with ease then push cut paper. i cant wait to play with the ZT 200. it looks awsome. i do agree that the Lahar could use some better finger grooves, and i think a lanyard hole also. Steveg30, you will love the Lahar. great pickup! let us know what you think

That custom is outstanding! What a mind this guy has.

I've been saving to get a lahar ( production, not custom. That would take too long to save up for) for awhile. It looks like another Kershaw must have that I can get along with. The custom sure looks beautiful.

I don't know of any cutlery company ever in my lifetime having the stable of high powered design & engineering and even sales talent Kershaw currently does. These guys are going to make Thomas W's job too easy, or maybe too hard. I'm not sure how it works. Whichever, it means success.

Thanks for posting the custom model pictures BTW. Joe

I just ordered a Lahar and an Avalanche. They're going to be my first Kershaws, so I can't wait to use them and see what they're made of. I seem to be on a G-10 kick right now, as the last several knives I've bought use G-10, and I LOVE it.
Edit: The Avalanche came today and it's great. Don't know why I waited so long to buy one. Not only is it my first Kershaw, it's also my first Speed Safe, and my first S30V blade, and I must say, this steel is hard. I can't wait for the Lahar, as it will be my first VG10 blade.

Well, my new Lahar got here today and I'm quite smitten. It came crazy sharp and the F&F is even better than the Avalanche. Nearly perfect. The action is butter smooth and the ergonomics are almost dead on as well. The only issue is the blade alignment. Mine is off a bit and doesn't straighten out when adjusting the pivot. I'll post pics later when the sun is up. Regardless, anyone would be hard pressed to find a better knife (or comparable) for 50-60 bucks.
Edit: Lack of lanyard hole for tip-up carry:(
