I just bought a NIB Kershaw 1660CB (composite blade). It's one of many Kershaws that I own. All except this most recent one have a born date on the blade. My question is, does this mean its a counterfeit or a blem or have they recently stopped the dating procedure on their blades?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. They should have posted that somewhere on their site so old-timers like myself wouldn't get confused.

Really? That was the only cool thing they wrote on the blades anyway. That and the steel. Who wants to look at a patent number?

Oh well. Still one of my favorite companies.

They must not have stopped putting the date of manufacture on all that long ago - my JYD II has a date of "May 2009". Did they stop this practice for all models or just some of their line?

I guess soon you'll see dealers with NOS charging more for the dated ones aimed at the collectors market. Similar to the dated Wenger Standard Issue.
