Alright guys, I'm going to pick up a Leek for my EDC rotation (wearing in slacks) the size is just right for my needs.
I'm debating between the two titled mentioned steels. I have no experience with D2 but have knives with S30V. The D2 steel has the stainless handles and the S30V steel comes with G10 handles. Doesn't really matter which handle I get, I'm more concerned with blade steel.
Does anyone have one (or both) of these knives/steels and would be kind enough to chime in?

What I'm looking for is something that will stay sharper longer than the other. My maintenance will be just stropping every few days and maybe a touch up on the sharpmaker when needed.

Thank you in advance guys and gals!

Hello Svs, Frankly speaking I have not sharpened yet both of my leaks D2 or S30V. They are not used for heavy tasks - just usual urban EDC. May be passed them couple of times through Benchmade small Field Sharpener when they started to feel not so razor sharp. ANd it is for couple of years. With Your maintenance (every few days) you will keep them very sharp.
As for me D2 holds the edge 20-30% better than S30V. Stainless handle is better - it does not destroy pockets.

I have both. Like the CB version better.

From my experience with the two, edge retention is pretty much the same between CPM-D2 and S30V. The D2 is a little easier to sharpen. While I do like the grippy texture of the G10, I prefer the feel of the framelock more. Plus, the brazing line looks cool on the CB Leek.

I prefer the CPM-D2 Leek. Grip tape helps if you find the stainless framelock too slick and thin.
