Found a great little knife shop within walking distance to my home.... Hawthorne Cutlery with Samari Swords to collectible folders. They even had a 13" handled le Opinel.
I got a Kershaw Leek damascus. See pics:

So I have a question and a comment. Comment first.
After sharpening I had some magic marker lines I had to remove. I used alcohol which usually works but in this car it did not. So I used some Franz polish. It took off the maker and change the Damascus from black to a mile gray. Yikes! I have no etchant here (but I do have some on order). But I read a post about someone using a 50/50 mix of heated lemon juice and white vinegar. Note the Damascus is CS. Well within 10 minutes..... it was back to black.... Boy I was pleased with myself. Tried the same on my SS damascus Baker knife to no effect. But there is a nice trick for any of you CS damascus blade owners.
Here is the question. This knife comes with a knife safety???? It is an assisted opening knife but.... do I need the safety on? Makes deployment of the blade a bit longer.
