I was looking at a Leek in a knife shop today, and asked the seller what steel it used.He said it had 420, but I don' t know what kind of 420.And, i thought all Leeks that were produced before july 07 used 440A steel, this particular one was made june 06.So....what steel is it?

You would figure a knife shop would know what they were selling.

Well.........did you buy it? :D

You'd think so, wouldn't you, Mike? Nevertheless, I still find Leeks listed by online knife retailers occasionally as using 420HC for blade steel...maybe they can't tell the Leeks from the Scallions? ;)
