Hey guys,

lately, I've been carrying my Leek (black 1660CKT variant) a lot as EDC.
It got me thinking how the Leek family is generally suited as a NKP/sheeple friendly knife.
I know that a lot of you guys edc Leeks, so you must have some experiences as to how NKP react to them.
I mean, it looks classy and elegant, but also sharp and pointy (narrow blade).
The one that I carry has black coating = tactical, evil look ?

Let me know what you think!

My brother in law has EDCed his since I gave it to him a year or two ago. So far he has told me that non knife people don't get put off by it even in his office enviroment. Black coatings seem to have a definite negative effect on NKP, for instance my BM 527 has been commented on, but my delica has never seen anything but praise.

I also thought it was funny that my grandmother decided the BM Nagara I gave my sister was much much more deadly than my Izula.

End point of my observations, people are nuts. ;)

Mine used to be my primary EDC knife because it was moderately sized, shiny, and pretty non-tactical looking. Where I would get some dirty looks for carrying my Cyclone or Tenacious, the Leek was pretty NKP-friendly.

I recently switched to a Victorinox SAK, which is even more so.

Alright so you guys are referring to the 1660 plain SS model?
I think that one and the red/blue aluminium models look the least "tactical".

I sure would like to hear of some more experiences :)

I've carried a Leek many times, mostly when in dress clothes in office surroundings and have never had any issues, either with the CKT or stainless model. The all black CKT does look a little more "tactical". If your budget permits, I would highly suggest looking at the 1660CB. This is the Leek with the composite blade; a spine of Sandvik and a cutting edge of CPM-D2. A very classy looking knife, it would probably be a non-issue in just about any surroundings. If you google 1660CB you will find many for sale, and kershawguy here on the forums has them too. You can find him in the Exchange, under For Sale: Production Knives (Dealer).

Yeah, lately I've been thinking a lot about getting the 1660CB
That should really be a NKP-friendly variant.
Thanks for your tips about getting it here on the forums, but I'm not from the U.S. :(
