Kershaw Leek Problem

I just recently bought a Leek(less than a week ago). I love it. Today, however it changed. When I press on the flipper it no longer comes out all the way. Sometimes it does if I use more force. But it doesn't have the little pop like it did when I bought it. What is wrong with it?

I would try cleaning and lubing it., sometimes some pocket lint or other debris can get in there and hinder the action from working properly. Also you could check the pivot screw and make sure it isn't too tight., back it off till the blade opens properly then tighten it until there is no blade play but the AO still works.

This is just my simplistic advice., but I'm sure some of the regulars will be around soon and can probably give ya a better answer!

fathead is on track. It could be as simple as a piece of pocket funk in the pivot, or it could be an incorrectly adjusted pivot. I would doubt that its a torsion bar problem because of its newness, but then again, things happen.

If you feel comfortable tinkering with it yourself, call Kershaw and get a new bar headed your way. In the meantime, open it up, clean it real good and put it back together. If not, send it in. Kershaw will fix it right up. After all, they're Kersh-awesome to deal with on stuff like this!

A dry Leek is very unpleasant. :p
:D

is that an oxymoron? a dry leek?? by it's very nature isn't a leek wet?? Unless of course it's an air leek., then I suppose it would be dry. hmm...,

yes I know the leak I'm refering to is spelled w/ an "a" :D

Too much oil on Kershaw AO’s can cause the channel where the torsion bar rides to clog up. I learned this the hard way. Also don’t mix dry lube with any other lube or oil that you may have put on the knife earlier. It will turn to mud. I’m not a big dry lube fan. In fact I’m not a fan at all.

Of course mixing dry lube and any other kinds of lube is a no no in all sorts of life’s lubrication needs.
Believe me on this one. :o
