I am looking for a good kershaw flipper with around a 3" blade. These are the three i have found. I will be using this for EDC. I am open to any other suggestions.

Thanks

You can't go wrong here, but here's my preference order: OD-1, NRG, Leek. The OD-1 flipper is awesome, the NRG flipper is cool too, but requires some technique, and the Leek is classic.

I like all three but for EDC would take the OD-1 without any hesitation. I like the blade shape/thickness more than the Leek's, the thicker handle and G-10 on the off side make it more comfortable and secure in the hand, and the cam/gear "assist" is just plain cool.

which do you think has the best opening mechanism?
My vote would go to the OD-1. As far as opening speed, you can't really go wrong with any of them, though: all three are very fast and easy to use.

i like the OD1. framelock with the hinderer lock stop, great blade shape, G10 front scale, and since it is a manual there is no spring to wear out.

I have both the Leek and the OD-1. Like them both equally. Had the nrg but didn't likethe skate board tape on handles.

so if you had to choose one, you would choose the od-1? if so, why?
Not sure if this was directed at me, but if so I gave some of the reasons in my first post:

In addition to those reasons (blade shape, ergos, opening mechanism), I also like the framelock of the OD-1 more than the framelock of the Leek or the liner lock of the Ener-G. It's easier to access than the Ener-G's liner lock, thicker than the Leek's framelock, and, as an added bonus, has a Hinderer lockbar stabilizer to prevent overextension of the lock.

I have several Leeks, OSO Sweets and a Whirlwind. I like the Leeks for EDC because of their slim profile. Fits nicely in the pocket and their pretty tough knives. I recently picked up a Whirlwind. This little knife has alot of snap to it. It takes very little effort to open it. The plastic handles on it are pretty cheap looking though.

I would say the NRG. I have the NRG II, and it is amazing. if you pull back on the flipper with any force, the snaps open like it was assisted. if you put some force behind it, it makes a amazing snap when opening. the handle is not the most comfy, and the clip sucks, but the knife is awesome. Having held a OD1 for the grand total of 5 seconds, my first impression was unimpressed, but I have heard so much about it that i am going to assume it is amazing. that said, the leek is also very nice, but does not slam open with the same force. You can't go wrong on any of them.

BF answer: buy all 3. my opinion: go to a knife store and handle all of them. see which one you like, and buy it.

I have two OD-1's. One opens easily and smoothly - a dream. The other is much stiffer and despite adjustment, disassembly, and cleaning, I have been unable to duplicate the smooth perfomance of the first one. It is OK, but not as smooth as its mate. If you go with the OD-1, try it first and make sure it is acceptable. I currently carry and prefer the Kershaw Random Task II. If you want something a little more trim, there is the Random Task Leek

OD-1! Sweet knife. It's actually more impressive than a para2 to me. Very fun knife to flip. The G-10 side, the lock bar is stable and the flipper is crazy fast.

kershawguy on this forum has all 3 avail in blems, might be able to save enough to justify buying 2 or 3. I have a leek and very comfortable to edc
