I am still tweaking it a bit, it seems that the blade is opening a little sluggish. I tried opening without the spring and it was very hard to flick. The spring is defiantly giving it some assist. I used a Dremel with the small router attachment to make the pocket for the spring and the cover plate. Before I started I searched the net for any ideas from others that might have replaced the scale with carbon fiber, but it seemed like no one had done it. It looks kinda of cool at least different.

I made some minor tweaks in the channel around the pivot and now it works like it should. Has anyone made a scale for the leek with the spring assist still working?

I have a Damacus leek and thought to put the carbon fiber scale on that one. Once I put the new scale on the Composit blade it gave it some personality. I have done a second carbon fiber scale on a Damacus Skyline. It was much easier not dealing with the speed safe. The Damacus that Kershaw uses is from Alabama Damacus so it is pretty good for the price. I will upload a pic of the Skyline. Thanks for your reply and kind coments.
