Kershaw leek

Does anyone know if the composite blade is worth it. I think my favorite is the composite blackwash
Essentially you're paying more for the 'upgraded' steel (D2*, which should retain its edge a bit longer than the standard 14C28N) as well as the "look". If you can afford the price difference, I say go for it. I have a composite, and also gifted one to a friend who used it quite a bit and was very satisfied. The *D2 is also "semi-stainless", so under certain rare conditions it might develop a little rust--but that's not nearly as big a deal as it might sound. (Also, the "blackwash" finish may mitigate the already minor susceptibility to rusting--I'm not completely sure how blackwash works.)

If you're fancying the looks of the composite blade Leeks then the non-BlackWashed one really shows off the braze (weld) lines. Both CB models are cool-looking. Personally, I prefer S30V and even better having that with G-10 instead of stainless steel handle. However, you can only find those on the secondary market at premium pricing.

Here are my S30V Leeks with the top and bottom ones being G-10 (1660TG10, 1660TGRYST and 1660G10):
