can anyone tell me more about this knife . kind of steel does it have it it good or bad?
I asked this question a couple of weeks ago. I didn't get an answer

knifecenter has them up, it only says one piece stainless, so I'm a little leery of the steel

Hey Guys...

The knife looks decent enough,,however the thing that worries me is the sheath/shoulder rig setup...

Beware of knives that come OEM with convertible sheath contraptions, that allow you to carry belt, or shoulder rig....

They are usually Super Cheap, not well designed and gimmicky....

Little to No thought have been put into sheaths like this,,then they use the "Shoulder Rig" as a Strong selling point of the knife...

Anyway,,just my thoughts...

Your right normark the sheath carry system is a little on the cheap side with this knife, but the sheath itself is not bad and the knife is very nice for the money, has a very solid feel to it and one piece design.

As for the steel, I looked through all the paperwork that comes with them and with the kershaw book and do not see it mentioned anywhere but I figure for under 40 bucks your not going to get S30V anyway.

Hey NGK....

Actually just before I posted that,, I came from your site, and was looking at the knife and a few other things...:)

Maybe you would be interested to develop a custom made rig for this blade if it becomes popular...

Do a little swapping,as we have in the past..:) I have a couple other models in mind that will do well with a custom rig..

Drop me a note,,and we can discuss them....

The originals were a very neat boot knife, but the stainless took a poor edge and never held it well.

The design was great though and it serves it purpose as a "sticker" but as I mentioned before....the steel or HT was not so good.

They were never cheap, like $70-80...years ago. However, I have seen the new ones for as low as $38.

I'd like to see the new sheaths....the first models were crappy.

That looks to be an integral, if so it would have to be the lowest cost knife with this type of construction that I have ever seen. Attractive knife.

I have seen something like this about 10 years ago. The brand was Kershaw
but on the blade was also marked : Othello, Solingen.

You are correct, the knife is made in Germany. It looks very nice but it's not very shapenable if that's a word.

I'd like to see an American made version with good steel and a thin sharp edge.

The original ones were made in Germany. The new ones are made in China, although Kershaw says the steel is made in Germany. I find this to be unlikely, but anything's possible. I have also seen sone originals marked Hoffritz.
I think it is a classy little knife with a good size and shape, but I wish it was hollow ground rather than flat ground. The edge is waaay too thick.
