I picked up a NIB Needs Work off Ebay for a decent price. I have to admit, the first time I saw this knife I thought it was hideous. I have handled it at the gun shows several times since and it's grown on me. I just wanted to know what the general consensus is on this one? I don't care for the clip but if the knife holds up I'm thinking about making some custom scale and I'll put a different clip on if I do.

It was my first real knife. It put me on the road to Kershaws. I still have a soft spot for it.
Be prepared though, it is not an EDC. It is a workman's knife meant for cutting carpet, trimming plants, etc.
Still a very good knife though.

i like it a lot, its very useful and comfortable to hold. its a bit thick in the pocket and the G10 version carries better, but you can't go wrong with the regular models.

I really like the blade shape but I think you're right on going with custom scales. The stock ones are pretty hideous. Keep us posted

It was my first Kershaw. Love it. Gets used more than most my knives. Not carried though. Custom scales could be really cool

Its like the Tilts Ugly Little Cousin...But man the SnapOn aluminum one..Now thats a beaut!

Why did you have to post that picture, Chester? Red is my favorite color and I have a thing for red knives.

If only it didn't have the snap on logo. I might have to have rival or kryptoglow make me a set

It's not much to look at, but it is a great utility knife. The thick handles and somewhat awkward clip makes it a bit uncomfortable for EDC, but it is comfortable in hand if you have to do a lot of cutting. I actually just ditched the pocket clip on mine, as it doesn't carry well anyway.

I edc mine pretty regularly, seems just fine in my pocket. I do have the g10 one though if that makes a difference. For what its worth though, I regularly edc a g10 tyrade and a jyd too (as well as a cold steel pocket bushman and a Gerber applegate combat folder. I like bigger knives. Lol)
