Kershaw Needs Work review gripe

I've read several great reviews on the Kershaw Needs Work, but many of the reviews mention that the handle is uncomfortable or too small. After owning this knife for about a week I've realized that it's way more comfortable if I move my hand up and rest my thumb in the curve of the blade, which is the way this knife was designed to be held (most of the time). I used it yesterday to clean up some cuts I made in a staircase riser with my skill saw and it performed flawlessly, still shaving sharp after slicing pressure treated wood and performing other woodworking tasks.

Please excuse my dirty hands/nails, I just finished changing a fuel pump and was inspired to take photos.

This grip makes it feel small

This IMO is the way it was intended to be held and is way more comfortable. I'm sure many people have figured this out, but according to the reviews I've been reading some people haven't.

I liked the Needs Work for the simplistic blade shape. Made it EXTREMELY easy to strop back to razor sharp. I had to return it though, the knife was defective and the force applied to open the blade was literally 5 times too much, the little roller divot thing was far too big. I looked at a few other Needs Works that opened as easily as my Leek, so I know that was not normal for mine. The handle complaint I had was that it was too big, it felt like a grossly dis-proportioned fixed blade when it was out, with a giant handle and a puny, thin blade.

I have no problem with how the Needs Work feels in my hand. I can see though, how holding it with your thumb over the back edge of the blade would afford better leverage in some cases.
