I saw this knife at my local store and the guy behind the counter was using this knife. I tried it out. I will admit this is the first flipper I've tried to date, and damn is it addicting. I just stood there opening and closing it. when I opened it it nearly jumped out of my hand. I swear, I'm in love. I have yet to buy it, however.
My question is how would this work for an all around utility knife? I've never used that type of blade s I'm wondering how well it works.
P.S I bought the SOG Seal Pup while I was there, and so far loving it.
Thanks before hand.

Yes, the flipper on the needs work has a nice "thwack" to it. :D
Wharncliffe blades are excellent for utility.

The handle is a little small imo, but it's still grippy enough to work well for EDCing.

Lots of people have reported success using that knife as an EDC. Everything from opening packages to cutting boxes and rope, so far everything I've read is that it cuts well and comes back for more.

Every AmericanPatriot should own a Needs Work. :D
The blade shape and the ergo's are great for everyday tasks.
The blade steel (13C26) is great and takes a wicked edge.
Get one. You will not be disappointed.

Ah yes, I love my Needs Work I carry it almost every day.
It is a good work knife, so dont be afraid to use it on any cutting task.
I really love the warnclif blade for its cutting power, great for cardboard boxes, but it will do almost anything well.
And yes the speedsafe/flipper action does have a nice click to it.
I have no problem with the handle on it. I have medium large hands and I always get a good grip on it.
Keep it clean and sharp and it will be good to you.
I recomend buying one asap.

EDIT:
In over a year of almost every day carry my N/W has never opened "by itself",
unless I pulled on the flipper to open it.

I have one. Never carry it though, the clip is too shallow and the handle is small and thick. I love the blade though.

I don't Mind no tip lock. My blur doesn't have one and I have never had it open in my pocket. I trust kershaws speedsafe system. Looks like my list grows longer.

I don't have an issue with no tip lock by some people stress about it more than others. My blur is perfect, if it had a tip lock I would leave it off anyways
