Does anyone who uses Kershaws "Needs Work" find that the flipper is a bit too rounded off and smooth? Sometimes when I go to open it, especially if my hands are sweaty or slightly oily from work, my finger will end up slipping off. I'm thinking of re-grooving or maybe re-profiling it altogether. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Jim~

Hi Jim,

I just sat here with my "Needs Work" and tried to reproduce the slippage you're experiencing, but mine flips open without fail. I even put a drop of olive oil on my finger and was still able to get it to deploy, no problem.

I'm wondering if the pivot on yours might need to be backed off a hair. Also, try pushing down and back, rather than just back on the flipper.

For an all around work knife/edc, I really like the design a lot. If I could change one thing, it would be to make the liners and scales a .5" longer to allow a 4 finger grip.

Let me know if that helped,

Taylor

Yeah, I've found that you kind of have to press the flipper in rather than pull back on it.

Thanks guys, Both suggestions actually helped me out. I loosened up the pivot just a fuzz AND tried pressing down on the flipper instead of back. (slapping myself uptop side the head...)

Thanks again!:D

Good deal. Glad that worked out for you.

Hey, don't go slappin' yourself around.

That's what this forum thing is all about. It's the equivalent of having more brain cells than we actually do.:D
