hello all,

Wanted to post a quick thread on another project that has kept me working on a problem for a long time. I have loved my OD-1 since the day I bought it. I got it on clearance, and was only interested because of the price.....and I was pleasantly surprised! I love the opening mechanism, smooth action, low profile, and the blade shape & grind. Since I began modding I have tried twice to make a scale with no luck....the flipper needs a milled out area near the upper end that I just haven't been able to replicate. Thanks to a new drill press, some milling bits, a 6-pack of Labatt Blue, and some spare time, I finally tackled the project. Was able to mill out the area, though it was very slow going. since there is a relief in the back, i could not do a standard pattern...plus its a thin blade, so options were limited...using toxic & black I simply contoured the profile of the blade, and spent an evening sanding (while watching the walking dead!), and here is the result....as elegant and gentlemanly as one can get using toxic green......go ahead and imagine it in your favorite color combo;)

Wow, that looks great. Does it fill the hand more now? Or is it the same thickness as the factory scale?

^^jHyde...its 1\32 thicker than factory, though making a thicker one would be simple.
