:thumbup:I just bought both of the subject knives from Walmart and got to say I'm extremely impressed with the quality of both knives. Thanks to the forum for pointing them out to me.

The Skyline and OD-1 came razor sharp and the flip mechanism, though different, work very, very well indeed. Between the two I seem to prefer the blade shape of the Skyline the best, but over all give the nod to the jewel like OD-1. The latters construction, heft and feel have won me over.

I'm glad you like them. I love both my Skyline and OD-1 too. I actually like the Skyline best though as it is lighter and has a better blade shape. It's just the way people's requirements differ. Both are in my EDC rotation of about 7 knives but the Skyline clearly gets the most carry.

I know I tend to keep recommending these 2 among a couple others over, and over, and over again. But now you know why. :)

A new Zing is on the way as well. Tanto-style blade without the striations.

(cough) Along with a couple of sprint-run OD1's (cough) ;)

These are part of the 2009 line up. Not released yet.

They are on order already though.

Yep, I went and checked out the OD-1 and Skyline because of the posts here on Bladeforums.

Bought the OD-1 and like it quite a bit. Don't have a Skyline yet, but I like it a lot and I'm sure I'll get one sometime.
 
The OD-1 is really cool. :thumbup: Mine had a warranty issue, but it was quickly fixed by Kershaw. When I carry it, it's usually without a clip and just a lanyard.

I still need to pick up a Skyline and OD-1. What's this about a sprint run of OD-1's, better steel, another 110v batch like the Shallot, are these too many questions? :foot:

:D nope the will have the same steal as before I'm pretty sure.
 
Let's put it this way, the changes for the new Od-1 are cosmetic. I'll let Thomas post the details once he gets back.

wait until you see the OD-2 , a miniture OD-1 and about as cute as anything I have seen lately, and very functional little knife. :thumbup::thumbup:
 
kershawguy, I would like to see the oposite. A larger OD-1 perhaps with a 3.5" blade.
