I'm considering getting a Kershaw OD-1. I'm wondering how durable the mechanism is.

If I get it, I'll be flipping it for fun quite a lot, and I want to be sure that it's sturdy enough to hold up.

I have one and I've flipped it many thousands of times since last July. It doesn't feel like it has worn out or loosened any since day 1. You're good to go. :)

I use mine at work. So far over a year and no problem. I think you will like it. It also just plain fun to flip.

I have the OD-2. It has a similar flipper mechanism. I use the knife for whittling, so pretty hard use (not the cutting, but torquing the knife handle around). It seems to do well and I have no complaints so far.

Mine Just arrived today and I love it :D

I took this pic of it in my car with my phone:

Got one about six months ago, flipped it plenty. It's still solid as Gibraltar, and wicked fast.

My wife gave me one for Christmas. I've played with it quite a bit and it doesn't show any sign of loosening. I haven't heard many (if any) complaints about Kershaws not holding up.

I've had mine for a couple of years, took it apart to polish the blade (don't really care for the bead blasted look), and remains rock solid and wicked fast.
