Well I went and did it. I found a slightly used OD-1 on another forum and paid a fair price for it and when it got here today I was amazed. But... I went to change the clip for left hand carry and come to find out the previous owner had stripped one of the screws. Don't think he stripped the hole though but its a moot point. Has anyone bought one new? The screws it came with are much too short to work on the G10 side of the knife. Do they send them with extras or am I SOL? If anything I will call Kershaw and see if they will send me some. They have great customer service and I'm sure they would send me some. Let me know guys I like the knife and would hate to hate it cause of this.

You should be able to get what you need from their web site. Call, e-mail or use their online form to request. I have a new clip, screws and torsion bar on the way from them via the site online form.

I hope you like it. I like this knife better than some 100$ + knives I own. Sucks about the clip, but Kershaw will send you a new screw.

They'll send you new screws.

I found that my new OD-1 (orange SW) does not even have holes for LH tip-up. It's OK though. Even as a lefty, I prefer the tip down position so the clip does not block view of the scale.

I carried mine today. One of my favorite knives.

They'll take care of you, just fill out one of the part request forms on the site or call them.

The bolts on mine were to short to attach the clip to the g-10 side as well. I thought that was a little odd myself. I ended up using the clip bolts from an old skyline I had laying around.

Their warranty department is amazing. I had a blur give out on me and they fixed it and gave me a new knife of my choice. Oh yeah when the lock gave out I did have to get 8 stitches in my left index finger.

I can't stop freaking playing with this knife. The flipper is amazingly fast and smooth. I had a bad accident with a Blur so I have been getting rid of all my linerlocks and switching to either frame locks, fixed blades, or slippies. Amazing knife!!! Oh yeah I sent Kershaw a message this afternoon for the screws should get a response Monday.

I'm curious. How did it fail?

Well that's the thing. I used and used it with no problems, and I'm left handed. I figured I might have put pressure in the wrong spot but after using it to cut a tire about 6 months after getting bit it failed again. This time I was cutting the tire and when I went to pull it out the blade caught the rubber and I was backing it out and it closed again. The warranty department replaced the blade and the lock and not it locks up tighter than it did when it was new. If you ask me it was all normal use.
