just picked up a kershaw od-2 to go with my od-1 and i have to say, although it is tiny, i absolutely love this little thing. the edge came pretty dull with some nicks in the blade actually (it was the display knife) but within an hour or two, its just as sharp and polished as my other knives. it opens faster than my od-1 and smoother, with a perfect lock up. i dont hear much about these knives and im assuming most shy away from them for the fact that they are one of the kershaws made in china, with a not so popular steel, but i think this thing deserves some more attention. and its the perfect size for staying out of trouble but still having your most trusted tool available. - Lance

p. s. i think thats the first time i have shared my first name on this forum. its starting to feel more and more like home.

i like it as well.

i got mine in a trade and the guy i was trading with forgot to mention that the knife didnt have the pocket clip, its no biggie though.

the steel takes a ok edge but for the price its a steal (unless of course you got real big hands, its a tiny knife)

I think the OD-2 doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves. It's incredibly quick to use. I work in a grocery store and it substitutes excellently for the cheap box cutters many employers provide. It's entirely one-handed, even clipping it to your pocket if the material has some sturdiness to it, and it's a joy to open and close quickly. If Kershaw came out with an OD-2 with a better blade steel I would jump on it. The steel it has is sufficient, especially for the price, but a better steel would really improve this knife. I paid $25 for mine at a Dick's Sporting Goods store, and I would absolutely do it again. A+ for Kershaw!

yeah the OD2 is a fantastic knife.

However they should make variations of it like the big brother, the od1. first Kershaw should make it slightly slimmer at the very least.

For a premium version they should do G10 scales with a variety of colors. Add a deep carry pocket clip like the 2011 kershaws. Finally make the steel higher end, maybe 14c28n at the very least.

With a premium OD2, Kershaw can dominate the small knife market (kill the Sog Flash 1, Spyderco ladybug, dragonfly, ect. )
