Does anyone know when these are hitting the market? im really interested in picking one up cause I love my OD-1.Also if any brick and mortar stores are carrying them. thanks for any info in advance

I don't see the stud in the picture, used for opening as stated in the review.

I am pretty sure it is like the stud on the OD-1 when the knife is open the stud slides in to the handle. it is only visible when the blade is closed

They wont ship to the peoples republik of california either ! :D

I like the size of this little beaut.

You talking about the OD-1 or 2 because of the flipper? I'm in CA, and I just saw an OD-1 at Walmart yesterday.

SMG wouldn't ship me a Puma Bowie several years ago - to Alabama! I dropped them. It's their bean counting legal department. SMKW, and others, will ship anything here. Support good dealers; nix the others.

Stainz

PS I went with the Kershaw Zing! from WallyWorld.

If it was actually a scaled down version of the "1" I'd be interested. Spring assist shoots it down for me. The main attraction in the OD-1 (as well as the Zing and Skyline) is the flipper with no spring. That's probably why they won't ship to some states. Also, the blade length is over the Cali 2" limit.

Not quite. The OD-2 uses 8CR13MOV (a chinese steel), the OD-1 uses Sandvik 14C28N. I like the Sandvik, don't know much about the other

Is the OD-2 made in China, then?

I think 8CR13MOV is the same steel used in Spyderco's Byrd line. OK steel, but I like Sandvik better, too.

There's is NO assist, it's just a smaller Od-1, those people who are selling that knife are misinformed.

I (they!) stand corrected. Are they also wrong in calling it a liner lock rather than the frame lock of the OD-1? Can't tell from the pics.
